MDI Medical offers new healthcare plan to its travelers

NORCROSS, GA – MDI Medical, which employs traveling healthcare professionals for travel and permanent positons in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech language pathology and imaging, announces it is now offering supplemental health insurance for its travelers.

Providing health insurance to traveling consultants is rare in the staffing industry, according to Candace Berk, President of MDI Medical. "Offering this benefit to our traveling medical specialists really sets MDI Medical apart as an industry leader," said Berk. Berk said the special health insurance is offered through AETNA, and is 100 percent paid by MDI for single employee coverage. And, because of MDI's contribution, the cost of the plan for family coverage can be as low as one-fourth of what the traveling employee would pay for regular health insurance coverage.

MDI Medical now provides nearly 100 traveling medical specialists nationally to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and imaging service providers. These travelers are engaged in assignments from four to 52 weeks and support MDI Medical's clients when supplemental staff is needed. Launched in late 2002, MDI Medical now has revenues of $7 million annually.
